GRAND LODGE MIXED OF GREECE
OUR HISTORY
In Athens in 1926, Greek Freemasons who were inspired by the ancient wisdom of the founders of International Co-Freemasonry, decided to establish a mixed Lodge. The venture was organised in every detail by the “Prometheus 37” Lodge, which shared the fundamental postulate of the mystical science with its members wives and daughters.
On 28 October 1926, “Athena”, the first Mixed Symbolic Lodge in Greece, was founded.
On 8 November 1926, the “Athena” Lodge was placed under the auspices of “Le Droit Humain”, receiving the number 815. Within ten years other Lodges were founded and finally, in 1965, the first Greek Federation, the “Grand Lodge Mixed of Greece”, was established.
The Grand Lodge Mixed of Greece operated as a Federation of Lodges until 1989, when the institution of representatives was abolished and the Grand Council was elected by individuals who were members of the Co-Freemasonry body “Le Droit Humain”.
In 1996, the International Masonic Order “Delphi” was founded, and the Grand Lodge Mixed of Greece was placed under its auspices. Symbolic Lodges no longer elected representatives and the Grand Council, including the Grand Master, were elected by individuals.
On 19 June 2022, Symbolic Lodges that chose to divest themselves of the auspices of the “Delphi” International Masonic Order followed the elected Grand Mistress Thekli Poulouki, 33°, in the reorganisation of the Grand Lodge Mixed of Greece.
The institution of Representatives was immediately restored. The Grand Lodge Mixed of Greece acquired a Charter and a Taxpayer Identification Number, thus completing the work of lawful legal representation in accordance with the Laws of the Greek State and Masonic Law.
The Grand Lodge Mixed of Greece is a Fraternity of Light, working for the benefit of humankind, the family, and Greek society.
